Porsche 964 Interior Overhaul

Recently I had the pleasure of working on a Porsche 964 and redoing the interior to give it a fresher and sharper feel, much like an RS spec car of the era. While interior restoration is something I have little experience with, I can proudly say this Porsche 964 interior is looking mighty fine. It received a complete AppBiz carpet kit, a pedal set, drivers floor plate, a bolt in seat belt bar/chassis brace, Cobra racing seats, 6-point harness, RS door cards, and a back dated rear deck lid. Chump Car Build #3

The latest developments of the chump car build. First and foremost, when you buy a used engine intended for racing; please take it apart. As you can see in these pictures the conrod bearings are exhausted and were not ready for racing. This 2.8L engine will be getting a full OEM replacement bearing, gasket, and ring set. Not to mention a complete head overhaul.  A very crusty bottom end to say the least.  Common high mileage engine wear, but the main bearings are in great shape (no photos included because #bias) Bare bottom end: BMW m52 2.8l Get it clean...

Chump Car Build #2

Things are coming along well with the e30 Chump Car build. The main structure of the roll cage is complete and it is now time to add reinforcements, primarily gussets and tabs to connect the body to the cage.  The next step is to remove the old engine and add supports from the forestays to the front upper strut, add gussets to drivers x-bar, create seat support pad, and install dashboard.  Keep checking in for this epic BMW e30 Cump Car build.

The early beginnings of a BMW e30 chump car.  Interior stripped out and getting ready for rollcage fabrication. Main hoop bent up and test fitted. Forestays test fitted. Main hoop with a seat in place. Backstay plates visible in trunk against the shock tower. Keep coming back as we continue to post photos of the build.
